IEU comes from a large farming and show jumping family in Anglesey, North Wales.  Two of his young nieces currently show jump for the British Team.

Ieuan graduated from Liverpool University in 1979, after working with horses at Malpas, Cheshire and Malborough, Wiltshire.  He joined Bob Ordidge At Rainbow Equine Hospital in 1988, the two man practice has now developed into a thriving and still expanding Equine Hospital.

His main interests lie with vettings, lameness and respiratory problems on racing, show jumping and dressage yards.  He is also the veterinary consultant for NFU Equine Insurance.

The busy schedule is shared between routine visits to the big racing yards with vettings and medicating of sport horses.  Ieuan frequently vets top quality show jumpers and dressage horses prior to purchase here and abroad.  He finds treating Olympic and International horses always rewarding.

Ieu believes that communication and the personal approach with clients is a priority.  He hopes for the Hospital to remain friendly, professional and at the forefront of Equine Medicine and surgery with 24 hour cover.  His hobbies include show jumping, boxing and rugby.  His work has involved him in several radio and television programmes.
