The Rainbow Equine Hospital was granted RCVS Hospital status in 2009, ensuring your clients and their horses receive the best possible standard of care. The hospital is staffed by a team of specialist staff including three RCVS qualified Equine Veterinary Nurses, RCVS Certificate holders in equine orthopaedic surgery, and surgery Dilpomate of the ACVS Jonothan Anderson. There are three veterinary surgeons that live on site and our team of interns and nurses provide round the clock care of the hospitalised horses. We recently installed a web based CCTV system that allows us to monitor the patients continuously.
The hospital provides round the clock care to patient 365 days a year, and there is always a veterinary surgeon on hand to give advice and information regarding potential referral of cases to the hospital. We accept referrals across the board from the emergency colic case to complex lameness evaluation. We are happy to offer assistance and guidance with regard to cases and provide assistance with interpretation of diagnostic images.
The Rainbow Equine Hospital has been a world leader in the development of the pioneering use of Computed Tomography, with the hospital being first equine hospital in the world to offer standing head CT examinations without the need for general anesthesia. We are continually developing new techniques and have recently started evaluating the proximal suspensory ligament using computed tomography.
